Bobcat boys sweep Mars Hill

The Phil Campbell Bobcats swept the Mars Hill Panthers in games Monday and Friday this past week.

Phil Campbell 9, Mars Hill 8

Sage Raper roped a walk-off single to give the Bobcats a 9-8 win over the Panthers Monday.

Mars Hill led 4-2 through five and a half innings, but Phil Campbell battled for three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead.

Mars Hill reclaimed the lead 8-5, scoring four runs in the top of the sixth inning.

Bryant Anthony hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game 8-8 before Raper came through with the game-winning play, scoring Cam Habada.

Habada went three-for-four with a home run, a three-run shot in the fifth that gave the Bobcats the lead, a double, four RBIs and three scores.

Hunter Baker got the win, pitching the last inning and two thirds. He allowed no earned runs and three hits and struck out two. Kyle Pace started the game and pitched five and a third innings.

Phil Campbell 4, Mars Hill 2

Phil Campbell beat Mars Hill 4-2 in the game Friday.

The Bobcats opened up a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but Mars Hill responded with two runs to take the lead in the bottom of the second inning.

The score remained 2-1, Panthers up, until the top of the seventh inning, when the Bobcats got their bats going again. Robby Robinson singled in Koltin Hester to start things off and tie the game 2-2. Pace put the Bobcats on top with a two-RBI single, scoring Anthony and Habada.

Cole Pace got the complete game win for the Bobcats, going the full seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs and striking out five.

Phil Campbell 8, Oneonta 1

Phil Campbell toppled Oneonta Saturday 8-1.

The game was scoreless through four innings. The Bobcats took a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning and extended it to 7-1 in the sixth.

Robinson was a triple away from hitting the cycle. He homered, tripled and singled and knocked in three runs.

Hester had two doubles in the game. Phil Campbell also got doubles from Anthony, Habada, Raper and Cody Quinn.

Eli Taylor went the distance for the Bobcats, allowing one run on five hits and striking out four.

Phil Campbell 9, Wilson 1

A six-run first inning was all Phil Campbell needed to beat the Wilson Warriors at Oneonta Saturday.

The Bobcat bats were alive, with a home run and double from Baker and two doubles from Robinson.

Doubles also came off the bats of Anthony, Habada and Hester.
