    Phil Campbell teams take down Panthers, Wildcats

    Macy Hardy found the scoring touch this past week, helping Phil Campbell to wins over Tharptown and Hackleburg.

    Phil Campbell 50, Hackleburg 35

    Hardy scored 26 points to lead Phil Campbell to a blowout win over Hackleburg 50-35. Hardy nailed six three-pointers in the game.

    Phil Campbell established early dominance, taking a 14-5 lead in the first quarter. Hardy scored 11 of the Bobcats’ 14 points, making three three-pointers in the opening period of play.

    Phil Campbell extended that lead to 29-16 by the end of the first half. Hardy made two more three’s in the second quarter.

    By the end of the third quarter, Phil Campbell’s lead had grown to 45-25, allowing the Bobcats to cruise to the win.

    Madison Branch and Allie Herring followed Hardy, scoring eight points each. Hannah Welborn added four points, and Sidda Rogers had two points.

    Phil Campbell 41, Tharptown 32

    Hardy scored 19 points to lead Phil Campbell past the Tharptown Wildcats 41-32. Phil Campbell doubled up the Wildcats in the first quarter, taking a 12-6 lead, with Hardy scoring half the Bobcats’ first-quarter points.

    Phil Campbell extended the lead to 23-11 by halftime.

    Backed by a big third quarter by Autumn Montgomery and Savannah Romans, Tharptown stormed back, outpacing the Bobcats 16-8 and cutting their lead to 31-24. Tharptown trimmed Phil Campbell’s lead to five in the fourth quarter, but the Bobcats were able to hang on for the win.

    Branch followed Hardy with nine points. Hannah Welborn had four points, Layla Baker two points and Isabelle Ashley one point.

    Montgomery led Tharptown with 14 points, followed by Romans and Kaitlyn Simmons with seven points each. Harleigh Borden and Kyndall Morgan scored two points each.

    Belgreen 42, Phil Campbell 36

    The Belgreen Lady Bulldogs raced out to a big lead and held off the Phil Campbell Lady Bobcats to win 42-36.

    Belgreen scraped together an 8-6 lead in the first quarter before extending that lead to 22-15 at halftime.

    Phil Campbell started a comeback in the second half, outscoring Belgreen 13-10 in the third quarter, but the Lady Bulldogs kept the lead for the win.

    Hardy led Phil Campbell with 15 points. Branch followed Hardy with 13. Baker finished with four, Herring had two, and Kaylie Motes added two.

    BOYS

    Phil Campbell 63, Tharptown 51

    The Phil Campbell Bobcats and Tharptown Wildcats battled back and forth, with the Bobcats coming out on top 63-51.

    It appeared the Bobcats were going to run away from the Wildcats early, with Phil Campbell taking a 24-11 first-quarter lead and extending that lead to 39-25 by halftime. Tharptown, however, started to settle in and battle back in the second half.

    Phil Campbell led 52-37 at the end of the third quarter, but the Wildcats cut the Bobcats’ lead to five in the fourth quarter.

    Bryant Hyde led Phil Campbell with 20 points, followed by Cam Habada with 15 points and Quentin Hyde with 12 points. Kyle Pace added six points, Gage Baker four points, Sage Raper two points and Clay Morgan one point.

    Malachi Minor led Tharptown with 16 points, followed by Dylan Valdez with 11 points. Jackson Clement added eight points, Dawson Higgins six points, Edwin Vela six points and Israel Sanchez four points.

    Phil Campbell 51, Hackleburg 42

    Quentin Hyde scored 19 points to lead Phil Campbell past Hackleburg 51-42.

    The Bobcats led the Panthers 13-6 at the end of the first quarter and extended their lead to 29-15 at halftime.  Hackleburg battled back in the fourth quarter, at one point cutting Phil Campbell’s lead to 10, 43-33.

    Habada had nine points, Bryant Hyde eight points, Cole Pace five points, Sage Raper four points, Gage Baker four points and Kyle Pace two points.

    Phil Campbell 44, Belgreen 23

    A big second quarter lifted the Phil Campbell Bobcats to an easy win over the Belgreen Bulldogs 44-23.

    Phil Campbell outscored Belgreen 10-4 in the first quarter and extended the lead to 24 by halftime. Phil Campbell led 33-14 at the end of the third quarter.

    Bryant Hyde led the Bobcats with 12 points. Quentin Hyde added nine points. Habada had eight points, Gage Baker six points, Clay Morgan four points, Cole Pace three points and Kyle Pace two points.

    Will King led Belgreen with 10 points, followed by Austin James with six points, Hunter Woodruff three points, Ely Mitchell two points and Gabriel Estrada two points.
