Turn of year brings new opportunities

By the end of this week, another year will be in the books, and as we take down the old calendar and turn the page to a shiny 2023, we can be certain a new year means new opportunities.

Whether you’re someone who makes resolutions or not, Jan. 1 presents a fitting chance to reflect on the past and look forward to what is to come. After all, the time will pass and the seasons will change whether we make goals and plans or not; so why not make sure we make the most of the time that is given?

The turn of the year provides a unique opportunity for that clean slate feeling, when we can wipe away the disappointments, failures or shortfalls we’ve experienced and recommit to whatever we find most important in this life.

When it comes to the Franklin County Times, as we count down on New Year’s Eve night and consider the impact we want to make in 2023, we will most certainly be thinking about our role as your community newspaper and how we can continue to serve Franklin County.

For centuries now, newspapers have been a crucial part of local communities, and we’re proud to be a part of the tradition and to continue our part in Franklin County as another year begins.

We commit to doing our best to keep you informed and entertained with all the county news of the day. From Red Bay to Waco, from Hodges to Frankfort, to Phil Campbell and Russellville and Belgreen and Vina – and everywhere in between – we’re here to learn and share what’s going on in our communities.

As always, we welcome your help.

Do you know of something going on in Franklin County that needs to be shared amongst your friends and neighbors? Give us a call. That’s why we’re here.

We are thankful each time you are involved and engaged with the Franklin County Times. After all, we don’t do this for ourselves; we do it for you.

We wish you all the best for a Happy New Year.
