Red Bay boys get area win over Sulligent, girls top Tharptown

BOYS

The Red Bay Tiger boys picked up an area win over the Sulligent Blue Devils Friday, 54-45.

Holden Inmon led the way for the Tigers with 13 points, including six of Red Bay’s 12 points in the first quarter.

The Blue Devils led the Tigers 13-12 at the end of the first quarter, but Red Bay exploded for 23 points in the second quarter to take a 35-25 halftime lead. The Tigers led 44-34 at the end of the third quarter.

Following Inmon was Cody Carnes with 10 points. Carnes went five-for-six from the free-throw line.

B.P. Blair added nine points. Blair scored six of the Tigers’ nine points in the third quarter.

Kennedy Wilemon and Lawson Glover scored five points each. Conner Humphries added three points. Gage Edgmon and Ty Reynolds finished with two points each.

GIRLS

Kaylie Lindley scored 32 points in Red Bay’s 54-45 win over the Tharptown Wildcats this past week.

Lindley scored 18 points in the first quarter to help the Tigers to a 22-15 lead. Twelve of those points came on four three-pointers.

The Red Bay Lady Tigers held onto their lead at halftime 30-24 and extended their lead to 44-36 by the end of the third quarter.

Madeline Ledbetter followed Lindley with eight points, Shelby Nichols added six points, Jaycee Vinson added five points, and Amber Mason tacked on three points.

Tharptown had three players in double figures, with Sarah Mansell leading the way with 14 points. She was followed by Kaitlyn Simmons with 13 points and Autumn Montgomery with 11 points. Savannah Romans added two points, Harleigh Borden one point and Kyndall Morgan one point.
