County volleyball teams keep courts hot as season progresses

In recent volleyball action:

BELGREEN

Belgreen beat Tharptown 2-0. Hannah Borden had five aces and two kills. Carson Hovater had six kills and three aces. Makayla Willingham had 13 assists.

Belgreen also beat Cherokee 2-0. Borden had five aces and five kills. Noelle Willingham had five aces. Makayla Willingham had 10 assists.

In a 2-0 loss to Covenant Christian, Borden had three aces and two kills for the Bulldogs.

RED BAY

In a 2-0 loss to Covenant Christian, Madeline Ledbetter had six kills for the Tigers. Kaylie Lindley and Shelby Nichols had three kills each. Talli Hamilton had 10 assists.

In a 2-1 win over Colbert Heights, Gracie Weatherford had eight kills. Lindley and Nichols had three kills each. Hamilton added 10 assists.

In a 2-0 win over Cherokee, Lindley had five kills. Nichols and Ledbetter had four aces each.

With a 2-0 win over Waterloo, Red Bay picked up the silver bracket championship of the Bulldog Bash tournament at Belgreen. Lindley and Ledbetter had seven kills each. Kyla Blackburn had six kills. Weatherford had four aces. Hamilton added 15 assists. Addy Blackburn had seven assists.

PHIL CAMPBELL

Phil Campbell beat Tharptown 2-0 (25-12; 25-13) but lost to Colbert Heights 2-0 (27-25; 25-19) and Russellville (25-12; 25-15). Madison Branch had four kills, Britney Coffman had six kills, and Bradley McDaniel tallied four assists.
