Volunteers unite for Phil Campbell cleanup
A few volunteers met in Phil Campbell Memorial Park Saturday morning for a planned town clean-up day. The city provided brightly-colored safety vests, grabbers and all other supplies.
“We had a very successful day,” said Phil Campbell Mayor Mike McQuary. “Some of the areas worked were the pike and Highways 13, 237, 63 and 81. We also got new sand down in the playground at the park, as well as trimmed trees there.”
McQuary said it’s all part of working on revitalizing the town and making sure everything looks nice before the Phil Campbell Hoedown. He said there might be another organized clean-up day in the fall.
