CB&S Bank hosts rocketry team reception

Two local rocketry teams are preparing for national competition, and the community is invited to a send-off reception in their honor.

CB&S Bank will host a community reception for the Russellville and Tharptown rocketry teams May 2 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the lobby of their main office in downtown Russellville. All community members are invited to attend and offer well wishes to the teams, which will compete in the American Rocketry Challenge May 14.

In total, 101 teams from 27 states qualified to compete in the 2022 American Rocketry Challenge. These student-led teams will compete for $100,000 in prizes and the title of national champion in The Plains, Virginia.

National champions will also win an all-expenses paid trip to London to compete for an international title.
