Softball season continues into area tournaments

The high school softball regular season concludes this week, and area tournaments will heat up next week. Red Bay will be the only county school hosting an area softball tournament.

Red Bay will host the Class 2A Area 14 tournament, which includes Tharptown and Colbert County. The tournament will begin May 2. Tharptown will play Colbert County at 4 p.m., and the winner will face Red Bay immediately after.

Hackleburg will host the Class 1A Area 14 tournament, which includes Belgreen, Vina and Phillips. This tournament will also begin May 2. Belgreen and Vina will play each other at 3 p.m.

West Point will host the Class 5A Area 15 tournament, which includes Russellville and Lawrence County. The tournament will begin May 3. Russellville will play Lawrence County at 4:30 p.m.

East Lawrence will host the Class 3A Area 15 tournament, which includes Phil Campbell, Danville and Vinemont. This tournament will also begin May 3. Phil Campbell will play Danville at 2 p.m.
