Russellville High celebrates Microsoft Office-certified students
The Russellville High School business department offers industry-recognized Microsoft Office credentials to students. Through a program with the Alabama State Department of Education, RHS is able to be a part of the Certiport Microsoft Specialist Certification program, and through this program, Dr. AnnaKay Holland was awarded a site license to administer exams for students to earn Microsoft Office certification.
The certification enables students to put a tangible, real-world skill on their resumes and college applications.
Microsoft Office Specialist certification is the leading IT certification in the world. This certification demonstrates that students have the knowledge, skills and abilities to productively use Microsoft Office.
Fifty-five students – all of Holland’s students in her Advanced Business Technology classes this year – have certified in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. They are currently working on their Excel certifications.
Students include Kalesha Sears, Valente Garcia Martin, Will Morgan, Cesar Zavala Marquez, Samuel Pace, Banks Langston, Daniel Askew, Tiana Derrick, Lizbeth Torres, Jessica Tunchez Barrera, Marianna Gaspar Juan, Ericka Alonzo Jose, Valeria Felipe Ramos, Lily Vargas Hernandez, Mylee Pounders, Peyton Boyd, Jake Sturdivant, Diana Betancourt, Madison Qualls, Joselin Ornelas, Andrea Quinones, Hannah Hulsey, Lexie Wells and Abigail Ashton.
