Tharptown girls get win over Hackleburg

Taylor Cameron had a big day to help the Tharptown Wildcats beat the Hackleburg Panthers 4-1.

Cameron had two doubles and scored a run. She also struck out 10 and allowed four hits from the circle.

Kyndall Morgan had two hits, including a double. Alyssa Fischer also had a two-hit game.

Tharptown got on the board in the top of the first inning when Morgan scored on an Amerie Villalobos ground out. Leslie Staggs singled in Cameron to give Tharptown an early 2-0 lead.

The Panthers picked up their lone run in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the Wildcat lead to 2-1.

Tharptown added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh: Fischer singled in Karrah Nichols, and Harleigh Borden scored on a passed ball.
