Roxy’s Christmas Spectacular enjoys successful 2021 run

The Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council is ecstatic with the success of the second annual “The Roxy’s Christmas Spectacular,” held during the holidays!

Over the four days and nine performances, almost 3,500 people attended this production.

The continued community support of this type production at the Roxy emphasizes the importance of the performing arts to not only our city and county but to surrounding counties.

“The cast, which featured 64 participants, was outstanding, dedicated and great to work with,” according to the director Hillary Malone Hall.

With the production staff support of Jonathan Grimes, Ashley Grimes and Destiny Hatton, each show was perfectly presented.

The following sponsors were so generous in their support of this production and are so appreciated: CB&S Bank; Russellville First Baptist Church; Franklin County Chamber of Commerce; Hester Printing; Alabama State Council on the Arts; Alabama Central Credit Union; G&G Steel; Sen. Dr. Larry Stutts; Rep. Jamie Kiel; Cultura Garden Club; Eddie’s Collision Repair; Rhett Bradford–State Farm; Franklin County Commission; Green’s Dependable Hardware; Bedford, Rogers, Bowling and McReynolds; Valley State Bank; First Franklin Financial; Fuller Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing and Electrical; Fred and Judy Bodie; Strickland and Barksdale CPA; Atkins Marble and Granite Works; Bank Independent; Big Star; Clark Pulley; Family Pharmacy of Russellville; Sinclair Lawrence and Associates Insurance; EyeCare Professionals; and Wood-Thompson Insurance.

A musical production of this magnitude requires a lot of support and volunteerism.  Special thanks is extended to the following: Franklin County Schools, Russellville City Schools, Northwest-Shoals Community College, Franklin County Probate Judge Barry Moore, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Russellville Fire Department, Russellville Police Department, Russellville Street Department, Russellville Electric Board, Russellville Water and Sewer Board, Franklin County Times, Franklin Free Press, Shea Madden, Terry Zills, Charles Bell, Krystal Hyde, María Camp, Jeremy Landers, Mary Carton and parents of the cast.

Of course, the board members of the Franklin County Arts and Humanities Council were involved, serving lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks and more for the cast, staff, crew and sound technician. They also helped with the seating of school children and general public; selling tickets; running errands; and general cleanup of Roxy.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2021 “Roxy’s Christmas Spectacular” a success!
