Lady Red Devil reaches 1,000-point milestone

In a spot of positive news for the Red Devil girls, in the Woodville loss, Vina’s Sara Scott eclipsed the 1,000point milestone.

Vina couldn’t overcome a slow start in the Woodville game, trailing 19-2 at the end of the first quarter. The Red Devils finally started hitting some shots in the second quarter, outscoring Woodville 20-16, but Vina trailed 35-22 at the half.

Woodville led Vina 41-32 at the end of the third quarter.

Kaitlyn Athey and Sara Harper led Vina with 12 points and 10 points respectively. Scott followed with eight points, Kaley Attaway with six points, Hailey Cantrell two points and Abbie Petree one point.

In the Colbert Heights game, Vina led 13-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Wildcats, however, took a 25-22 lead at halftime and maintained the lead to the end.
