Tharptown cross country places fourth

The Tharptown boys crosscountry team finished fourth in the Class 1A/2A state meet.

The Wildcats finished behind Bayshore Christian, Cold Springs and Hatton.

Alex Quintero led the way for Tharptown with a time of 18:00.72, finishing in 18th place overall. He was followed by Edwin Vela, Ismael Perez and Leonardo Lucas.

Belgreen’s Canaan Stough finished in 17th place overall, just ahead of Quintero, with a time of 17:57.65, a personal record for the senior.

Tharptown’s girls finished in 11th place. The Wildcats were led by Abby Wilson with a time of 22:30.68, finishing 36th overall in the girls’ race.

Wilson was followed by Gracie Montgomery, Aalivia Wilson and Yoseline Flores.

Belgreen’s Briseyda Luna finished 28th overall with a time of 22:10.37.
