Teams face week two

PCHS (1-1) travels to Elkmont (0-2)

The Phil Campbell Bobcats will try to shake off a disappointing 7-0 loss to Lamar County when they travel to Elkmont this week. The Bobcats won this game easily this past year, 62-22.

Elkmont comes into this game with two lopsided losses to Randolph (48-7) and Ardmore (33-13). This past year was the only other time the two teams have met on the football field.

RBHS (0-1) travels to Lexington (1-1)

Red Bay will be back in action this week after an early season open date. The Tigers will travel to Lexington.

The Golden Bears are coming off 53-20 shellacking of Tanner last week. They lost to Lauderdale County 6-0 to open the season.

Red Bay is 10-13 against Lexington, but the Tigers have won four of the past five meetings. The Tigers lost their opening game to Hamilton 40-24.

RHS (2-0) hosts Mae Jemison (0-2)

Russellville is coming off an exciting 45-37 win over Deshler this past week and a 27-15 win over Decatur to open the season. The Golden Tigers will host Mae Jemison in a region contest this week.

After two tough games, this one should be a breather for Russellville. Jemison lost its first two games by wide margins to Hazel Green, 49-26, and Hartselle, 41-0. Russellville won this game this past year 41-0.

THS (2-0) hosts Colbert County (1-1)

Tharptown is back in action this week after getting an unexpected off week. The Wildcats were supposed to play Phillips this past Friday night, but the Bears had a COVID-19 outbreak on their team, forcing them to forfeit.

The Wildcats return to the gridiron this week to face the Colbert County Indians.

The Indians lost their opening game to Brooks 16-7 and whipped Tanner last week 41-0. Tharptown opened the season with a 22-6 win over Shoals Christian.

VHS (0-1) travels to Shoals Christian (1-1)

Vina will try to shake off a tough 48-0 loss to Marion County on the road at Shoals Christian this week.

The Flame didn’t play this past week, taking a forfeit win over the Alabama School for the Deaf, but lost its opener to Tharptown 22-6.

Shoals Christian leads this series 15-4. The Flame won this game this past year, 20-8.
