RHS volleyball has early-season tourney success

The Russellville Golden Tigers recently got the 2021 varsity volleyball season underway. Russellville is 6-5 to start the year under head coach Anna Lisa Jackson, picking up early wins over Clements, Covenant Christian, Lexington, West Limestone Athens Bible and Haleyville.

The Golden Tigers took the bronze and finished third overall at the Brooks Serve-Off Tournament, going 3-1. The RHS team opened the home portion of their schedule Aug. 23 with a tri-match that included Hatton and Central-Florence.

Aug. 24 the Golden Tigers went to Hatton and defeated Athens Bible School but lost to the HHS Hornets.

Haleyville was the road opponent Aug. 26. Russellville got the victory 3-2 over the Lions by scores of 25-18, 26-28, 25-23, 18-25 and 15-12.
