Appreciation event provides free hotdogs, hamburgers to first responders

Rep. Jamie Kiel, Sen. Larry Stutts and the Alabama Forestry Association will be hosting a Back the Blue event to thank first responders and show their appreciation Sept. 1

First responders will be honored for their service with a free lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the A.W. Todd Centre in Russellville. All first responders are encouraged to stop by for a free lunch of hamburgers and hotdogs.

“We want to take the opportunity to honor our first responders,” said Kiel. “They’ve been through a lot with COVID and have done a wonderful job serving our community.

“This is an opportunity to show them they are appreciated.”

Kiel said attendees are welcome to enjoy their meal inside, or it can also be provided as carry-out for those who prefer it.
