New experiences bring sweetness to summer

Summer just feels like a time to go on adventures, doesn’t it?

My mother, sister-in-law and I just got back from a long weekend at Pensacola Beach where we had several experience that were new to me. We went kayaking and paddle boarding in the bay, and we also went parasailing. We visited Fort Pickens. We tried new foods, like alligator bites.

It was an amazing weekend.

But I’m also looking forward to a few adventures closer to home.

If you look around, there are probably plenty of new experiences to be had right here in Franklin County.

There are places to explore, restaurants to try, sights to see.

Even if you were born and raised here, there are probably places around Franklin County that are unfamiliar to you.

Or, if you feel Franklin County is as familiar as an old friend, we are just “a hop, skip and a jump” from so many amazing attractions across north Alabama and into eastern Mississippi and southern Tennessee.

You could easily do a day trip to a touristy spot, a park, a historical site or some other exciting new location.

I know that’s what I hope to do.

New experience bring a little extra zest to life, and summer is the perfect time to savor that adventurous spirit.
