Phil Campbell hosts Dream Girl pageant

It’s that time again – time for the Phil Campbell High School 53rd Annual Miss PCHS Dream Girl pageant.

This year’s event is set for Friday at 6 p.m. in the PCHS gymnasium.

In honor of the occasion, the 2020 Miss PCHS Dream Girl, Grace-lyn Paris Habada, had a few thoughts to share with the community and with this year’s competitions

“March 13, 2020, is a date I will long remember,” said Habada. “Being chosen and crowned Miss PCHS Dream Girl was the highlight of my sophomore year and my ‘one moment In time’ to shine before COVID-19 shut us down.

“Today, thanks to our principal, faculty, coaches and staff, our learning – be virtual or classroom – continues to go forward.

“This week the air is filled with excitement here at PCHS as the countdown is on, with many beautiful, intelligent and talented young ladies competing for the title of Junior Dream Girl, while grades nine through 12 will be vying for the title of Miss PCHS Dream Girl. They each and all have the potential to make our school proud!”

Admission to this year’s event will be $5, and supporters can follow the pageant on social media through the Tracy Live Network.

“I can proudly say that representing my school, PCHS, is of great honor, and ‘I’m not afraid to be great,’” Habada added. “The Miss PCHS Dream Girl pageant first began in the year of 1968. Being the 53rd chosen winner, I can firmly say that it’s great to be a Bobcat, and I will be – ‘always and forever’ – shining with Bobcat Pride.

“Friday I will take my final walk across the platform as the reigning Miss PCHS Dream Girl, and I will stand in the shadow as I place the crown on one chosen beautiful young lady who will begin her reign with PCHS pride.

“Good luck to all you lovely ladies competing tonight. With all your beauty, glitz and glam – it’s your night to shine.”
