Russellville softball notches successful week

The Russellville Lady Golden Tigers had a busy week on the varsity softball field, winning four of six games.

RHS defeated a county rival, hosted senior night and came in runner-up in a regular-season tournament during recent action on the diamond, which included Jenna Whitfield going 14-for-26 at the plate.

Fallin Cox and Jaiden Calvert also homered for RHS. Maddy Green added two hits, including a double, and Emma Campbell smacked a couple of singles.

Kailee Simpson had the other RHS hit in the contest.

Paislee James and Jacey Moore did the pitching for Russellville. James allowed two runs on two hits over two innings, and Moore pitched three innings allowing one unearned run, and she struck out six batters.
