Huddle House eyes Red Bay for new location

When Huddle House opened its newest location in Russellville this past year, it instantly became a town favorite. Less than six months after opening the Russellville location, Huddle House has announced plans to expand to Red Bay.

“When thinking about the ideal location to open a new restaurant, Red Bay is definitely the perfect place to be,” said Scott McIntosh, director of franchise development for the restaurant chain.

Huddle House real estate has already identified a location and is preparing preliminary site plans for the chosen spot, at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Eighth Street heading into downtown from Highway 24.

There is no timeline for when the location is expected to open because Huddle House is still looking for a franchise partner in the area.

Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Director Cassie Medley said it is great to see large companies like Huddle House investing in Franklin County.

“They would be a great asset for Red Bay,” Medley said. “That is very exciting.”

Red Bay Mayor Charlene Fancher said she has been advocating for a restaurant like Huddle House to come to Red Bay for a long time.

“To hear that Huddle House is planning on building in Red Bay, that is just music to my ears,” Fancher said.

Fancher said Red Bay is a growing community in need of additional restaurants and businesses.

“I think it is great that Huddle House is wanting to invest in the Red Bay community,” Fancher said. “I think them coming here will only encourage similar businesses to do the same. I think this is just the beginning for Red Bay.”
