Steve Trash launches Fantastic Bubble Party business

At the beginning of 2020, Franklin County resident and well-known magician Steve Trash said he felt like all of the cards had aligned for him.

“I had all of these big things planned, and I was positioned to blow up,” Trash said.

Things blew up, all right, but not in the way he’d envisioned. As for so many others, Trash was forced to change his plans when the COVID-19 virus hit.

“When you’re a performer, you make your living off of performing for these big groups of people,” Trash said. “I started the year with all of these big plans, and the next thing I knew, I was having to figure out how I was going to make a living during all of this.”

That was when Trash turned his focus to a new venture: bubble parties.

Trash said bubble parties are relatively new to Alabama, particularly the northern part of the state, but he anticipates they will be a big hit. His new business, Fantastic Bubble Party, has now burst onto the scene.

Bubble parties can be held for small groups, such as children’s parties, at any outdoor location. Stacks of bubbles explode onto the scene for foamy fun, and Trash said his cannon can cover a roughly 30-foot by 30-foot area. “It is kind of like playing in cotton candy because it is so light and fluffy and fun,” Trash said.

“Watching these kids play with the bubbles – it really does bring the same type of awe as magic,” Trash added. “I think it is going to be a great time a lot of people are going to enjoy.”

The foamy concoction is created from dish detergent, which makes it a safe substance for children to enjoy. Fantastic Bubble Party also provides the soundtrack for good clean fun, with Kidz Bop music on hand for each event.

Trash said each time he has unleashed the foam bubbles for test groups, he has been amazed by the joy they have brought.

“The reason I am a professional entertainer is because I enjoy bringing joy to children,” Trash said. “Although this is not selling out large venues for a magic show, the magic is watching the kids, so it is just as enjoyable for me.”
