Curtis W. Swinney Jr.

Curtis W. Swinney Jr., 78, died Jan. 25 at North Alabama Medical Center, Florence.

He was born in Franklin County, was a farmer and delivered motor homes for Tiffin Motor Homes, Red Bay. He was a member of Hodges Missionary Baptist Church and a volunteer with Hodges Fire and Rescue.

Services will be Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Marty Guidry officiating. Burial will be in Old Line Cemetery, Hodges. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, JoAnn Swinney; one son, Trampas Swinney (Patti); two grandchildren, Curtis Swinney (Jessica) and Evelyn Swinney; one great-grandson, Curtis Landon Swinney; one sister, Delora Jones; one sister-in-law, Diane Swinney; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Mary Swinney, and two brothers, Tommy Swinney and David Swinney.

Visitation will be Jan. 28 from 9-11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
