Winston Nolen scores 47 versus Shoals Christian for Tharptown

Tharptown’s Winston Nolen scored a school-record 47 points in a 71-61 win over Shoals Christian in the Bracy Invitational at Deshler High School this past week.

Nolen scored 15 points in the first quarter to help the Wildcats to an early 19-13 lead. He came back with 16 points in the second quarter to help Tharptown maintain a 36-31 lead at halftime.

Shoals Christian mounted a comeback in the third quarter to take a 51-50 lead, but Tharptown clamped down in the fourth quarter to outscore the Flame 21-10 to get the win.

Following Nolen in scoring were Dylan Valdez with six points, Hunter Motes with five points, Edwin Vela with four points, Travis Staten with three points and Blake Daily and Luis Valdez with two points each.
