Vina improves record with win over Phillips

The Vina Red Devils improved their record to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in area play with a 56-45 win over Phillips this past week.

The Red Devils were powered by Kaitlyn Athey’s 24 points, including 13 in the first quarter.

Vina jumped out to a 17-11 first quarter lead. The Red Devils extended their lead to 35-24 by halftime and expanded their lead to 49-33 by the end of the third quarter.

Sara Scott followed Athey with 11 points.

Hailey Cantrell and Kassidie Gesler scored seven points each. Kaley Attaway added six points, and Abbie Petree had four points.
