Tharptown girls get wins

The Tharptown Wildcats avenged an earlier loss to the Belgreen Bulldogs, winning 58-38.

Belgreen’s Kaley Chandler and Emma Dempsey scored more points than any Wildcats, but Tharptown had four players in double figures to power past their rival.

Autumn Montgomery led Tharptown with 16 points, including 11 in the third quarter. Gracie Montgomery and Kyndall Morgan added 12 points each. Kaitlyn Simmons finished with 11 points.

Chandler led all scorers with 23 points, and Dempsey followed with 19 points.

Tharptown led Belgreen 16-7 at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead to 28-18 at halftime.  Tharptown added to the lead in the third quarter, taking a 47-35 lead.

Others scoring for Tharptown were Macy Petree with five points and Braisley Barboza with two points.

Other scoring for Belgreen were Morgan Vandiver with four points and Madison Vandiver with two points.
