Studio X-Treme students finally get to stage their annual recital Saturday night at the Ralph C. Bishop Center, after COVID-19 forced a several month delay. The night consisted of three shows with twirlers of all ages and levels taking the stage.
Masks were required by all non-performers at all times in the building, and a temperature check was required to enter. Performers also saw increased safety precautions, as they were required to use hand sanitizer before and after every performance.
Studio X-treme owner Heather Davis said it was difficult to organize a recital during a pandemic, but she was happy everyone was finally able to come out support the twirlers.
“This isn’t necessarily how we envisioned this when we started the season last year, but we are thankful for everyone coming out to support,” Davis said.
She said about half of the twirlers were unable to attend because of COVID-19.
