Q&A with Will Rogers, RHS senior outfielder

Q: How old were you when you started playing baseball?

A: I have been playing ever since my dad gave me a bat.

Q: Was there anyone special in your life that helped you become a great player, and how?

A: My dad was a big part in helping me become a great player. He would get home from work at 5, and we would go to the Lee Complex and practice.

Q: How do you get ready for a game?

A: I would hit a little bit and maybe listen to music, but it would depend on if we were playing at home.

Q: What do you like to do when you are not involved with baseball?

A: Spend time with friends.

Q: What factors do you feel have influenced you the most to become the player and person you are today?

A: My dad influenced me the most to become the person and player I am today.

Q: Did you have any routines or superstitions before or in a game?

A: Nothing really. I would just go with the flow.

Q: What is your favorite baseball memory?

A: I have two memories. The first is going to the state finals in 2018. The second is hitting my first home run at Spanish Fort last year.

Q: What baseball player has influenced you most in the game? Why?

A: I didn’t really have any baseball player to influence me.

Q: What is the greatest obstacle you have had to overcome in your playing career?

A: My size is probably the biggest, and the cramps I would get after games.

Q: What is life after being a baseball player for you?

A: Going to Northwest-Shoals then transferring to Alabama.

Q: What are your thoughts on your season and career coming to an abrupt end?

A: I think our team could have done something special, so that’s the sad thing about the season ending. I think my career ended with a good senior season. Left everything on the field March 14.
