Local student athletes earn awards, All-Star selection

Local sports are on hiatus, but there was some good news for several local athletes today.

Phil Campbell’s Ben Williams was selected as a Class 3A regional Bryant-Jordan Scholarship winner.  Russellville’s A.J. Taylor was a Class 5A regional winner.

Belgreen’s Emma Dempsey, Phil Campbell’s Katie Thomas, Red Bay’s Braden Ray and Russellville’s Chandler Dyas were selected to the North-South All-Star Game to be held in Montgomery July 14.

Phil Campbell’s Craig Thomas will be a coach for the North girls squad.
