AHSAA announces new basketball areas for 2020-22

Fresh off the end of basketball season, the Alabama High School Athletic Association has released the second phase of reclassification with the new winter sports areas.

The new areas for basketball will be in effect beginning next year and continue through the 2021-22 season.

The new areas are:

5A Area 15

  • Russellville
  • Lawrence County
  • West Point

3A Area 15

  • Phil Campbell
  • Danville
  • East Lawrence
  • Vinemont

2A Area 14

  • Tharptown
  • Hatton
  • Tanner
  • Whitesburg Christian

2A Area 10

  • Red Bay
  • Aliceville
  • Lamar County
  • Sulligent

1A Area 14

  • Belgreen
  • Vina
  • Hackleburg
  • Phillips
