Russellville City Schools Board of Education holds regular meeting
Russellville City Schools Board of Education met for its regularly scheduled meeting Jan. 16 to bring in the new year and handle new business.
The board approved the facility use of the Russellville High School Auditorium Feb. 23 for the CREATE Scholarship Benefit. This will be a partnership between the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and the University of North Alabama School of the Arts.
Russellville High School students obtained permission to travel to Vestavia Hills Feb. 14-15 to compete in the Alabama State Thespian Festival.
The board also approved the 2019-20 athletic schedules and the school calendar for 2020-2021.
Jerry Canida was hired as a bus driver, and Cam DeArman was accepted as a volunteer for golf.
Emili Crummie was also hired as a temporary employee to fill the position of LeJoy Winston from Jan. 8 to March 9.
The next Russellville City Board of Education meeting will be Feb. 27 at 8 a.m. with the work session Feb. 24 at 3:30 p.m.
