Phil Campbell pressure proves too much for RB

The Phil Campbell girls forced the Red Bay girls into 14 first-quarter turnovers and limited the Tigers to 14 points in the game as the Bobcats dominated their county rivals 53-14.

Phil Campbell raced out to an 18-3 first quarter lead and led the Tigers 33-9 by halftime. The Bobcats shut out Red Bay 14-0 in the third quarter to take a 47-9 lead into the final period of play.

“We played a really solid game defensively,” said Phil Campbell Coach Craig Thomas. “We’ve played a lot of big schools early on in the season – that prepared us. We struggled in some of those games, but we are better for it now.”

Kallie Allen led all scorers with 20 points for the Bobcats. She was followed by Caitlyn Mills with 10 points. Olivia Taylor added four points.

Kacie Harris and Trinity Vandiver scored three points each. Makayla Baker, Kenner Scott, Madison Branch, Faith Cook and Abby Garrison scored two points each. Katie Thomas added one point.

For Red Bay, Macy Faulkner scored four points, and Destiny McCollister scored three points. Kirsten Scott, Hanna Grace Green and Anna Kate Kennedy scored two points each. Audrey Ehler finished the game with one point.
