Red Bay jumped out to a 17-5 lead over the Yellow Jackets in the first quarter, but Winston County cut the Tigers’ lead by two to 25-15 by halftime.

Red Bay came out of the locker room hot and blew the game open, outscoring Winston County 20-7 to take a 45-22 lead into the fourth quarter.

Vina 53, Hackleburg 52

Rayleigh Guin scored 23 points to help Vina to a 53-52 area win last week.

“We struggled with our shooting,” said Vina Coach Richie Hester. “We missed a lot of shots we normally make – but a win is a win.

“We had a lead going into the fourth quarter and couldn’t make any shots and let them back in it, but we held on.”

Kaitlyn Athey followed Guin with 17 points. Sara Scott added nine points. Kaitlyn King and Abbie Petree scored two points each.
