FCSO makes drug arrest

A suspected drug dealer is behind bars after Russellville and Franklin County investigators, in cooperation with other law enforcement, completed an investigation of a Russellville resident. Investigators with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Russellville Police Department assigned to the ALEA Alabama Drug Enforcement Task Force Region E – with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force, conducted a search warrant at 812 Mullins Ave. SW in Russellville. The search warrant, according to authorities, was the culmination of an extensive investigation into the trafficking of illegal drugs from the northern Shoals area into Franklin County. The investigation targeted Keith Lamar Boddie, also known as Keith Lamar Beckwith. Boddie, who was convicted in 2013 for attempted sexual abuse of a child less than 12 in Lauderdale County, was found to be a source of drug distribution within Franklin County. Investigators with the FCSO obtained felony arrest warrants for Boddie on the charges of distribution of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a pistol, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana first degree. Nov. 12 the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force took Boddie into custody, and he was booked into the Franklin County Jail on the listed charges. This investigation marks the continued effort of the FCSO Drug Task Force and its partnership with the ALEA Region E Drug Task Force to curb the flow of illegal narcotics into the county and the northwest Alabama region. Authorities said additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
