Children make slime, birdhouses at The Little Stitch

Crafting opportunities for children have been in regular supply this summer at The Little Stitch in Red Bay.

July 17 owner/instructor Jeffery Dick held a slime creation class. Ingredients included Borax, distilled water, white and clear Elmer’s glue, food coloring and shaving cream as the basic ingredients for two types of slime. Some children opted to embellish their second batch of slime with glitter and beads.

July 19 featured a wooden birdhouse painting class, using acrylic paint.

Other children’s classes held at The Little Stitch this summer have included music makers, flower pots, coffee mugs, sun-catchers and easy “tie-dye T-shirts.”

Upcoming classes include making wind chimes July 24 and picture frames July 31.
