RHS football hosts evening youth camp, Ladies Night Out

The Russellville High School football program will be hosting a fun night of learning with the upcoming Youth Football Camp and Football 101 Ladies Night Out clinic July 22 at the RHS stadium.

Aspiring football stars in kindergarten through eighth grade will get instruction from Golden Tiger coaches and players. In conjunction, new this year, ladies ages 15 and older are invited to attend a Football 101 clinic in which Russellville head coach John Ritter and members of his coaching staff will cover football facts and phrases, the daily routines of the RHS football players and a Q&A session.

At the end of the clinic, Ritter said the ladies will have an opportunity to participate in some light drills with the youth campers, if they so choose.

“It’s an opportunity for the ladies that want to be a part of what we’re doing,” Ritter said. “It’s a chance for them to fellowship with other ladies that support Russellville football. They can have a little fun and talk some Q&A, and they’re going to get an inside look at what our kids go through on a daily basis so they can understand what their sons go through as Golden Tiger football players.”

Ritter said while Football 101 is new this year at RHS, it is something he has been involved with in the past, and it should be a fun night with the camp for the children taking place alongside the event.  “I hope we have a huge turnout for the Ladies 101 because I think it’s going to be really fun and exciting,” Ritter said.

The youth camp and Football 101 are scheduled to take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. For prices to attend and information about discounts that are available, visit goldentigersathletics.com. Participants can find a link on the website to sign-up in advance, or attendees may also register the day of the event.
