Letter to the Editor: Firefighters show honor to one of their own

Dear editor,

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Franklin County Fire Fighters for the honor conveyed to my recently deceased wife, Louise Thorn.

Louise joined the Tharptown Volunteer Fire Department in 1992. During her twenty-seven years of service she participated in a variety of training opportunities, answered fire and emergency calls and provided necessary support to the Department and the Tharptown Community.

The Russellville Fire Department flew the Flag at half mast and stood at attention as the funeral procession led by a Tharptown FD vehicle passed by. These acts of honor accorded to a fellow Fire Fighter were greatly appreciated by the service-oriented Thorn Family.

Floyd Thorn
