Tharptown upends St. Bernard

Greyson Studdard struck out nine and no-hit St. Bernard Prep in a 4-0 shutout last week.

Studdard went six full innings before handing the ball over to Jayden Mitchell, who struck out the side to end the game.

Tharptown scored its first run in the top of the second inning when Colton Simmons scored on a walk. The Wildcats added another run in the top of the third inning Dawson Higgins scored on a heads-up baserunning decision.

The Wildcats scored their final two runs in the top of the fifth inning when Carson Petree and Studdard both scored on passed balls.

Petree, Studdard and Simmons each got a hit and scored a run for the Wildcats. Studdard’s hit was a double.
