County presents annual budget

At the Franklin County Commission special-called meeting Sept. 27, Chairman Barry Moore announced the fiscal year 2018-19 budget for the county.

“I just want to thank Leah and Mandi, who have worked long hours putting this all together, and I appreciate the commissioners and department heads working together,” Moore said.

The overall budget is approximately $13,826,083.65. The General Fund budget is $7,000,564.53.  The Solid Waste Department budget is $2,625,915.41. The Highway Department budget is $4,199,603.71.

This budget includes all step raises that are due to employees; a 50-cent cost of living raise; and a retiree cost of living adjustment.

There is also a 5 percent increase in health insurance premiums that will go into effect Jan. 1, 2019.
