Garden Club announces Russellville winners

Garden Club announces Russellville winners

Olivia Vincent, a third-grader from Russellville Elementary School, is the winner of the Cultura Garden Club Woodsy Owl: Lend a Hand, Care for the Land poster contest.

Olivia’s poster also won first place for third grade at the state level, first place for third grade at the Deep South level and first place for third grade at the National Garden Club.

Her poster will be featured at www.gardenclub.org.

Three students from West Elementary School’s second grade won the Cultura Garden Club Smokey Bear: Only You Can Prevent Wildfires poster contest. Naveah Parks placed first; Maria Vela placed second; and Juana Miguel Martin placed third. Parks’ poster also placed first for the second grade at the state and the Deep South levels.

Three first-graders from WES won the Cultura Garden Club Smokey Bear: Only You Can Prevent Wildfires poster contest for first grade. Felix Garcia placed first; Asher Campbell placed second; and Jenieli Tomas placed third. Garcia’s poster also won first place for first grade at the state level.
