FC welcomes eco-friendly comedian
July 17 Steve Trash will be making a visit to Franklin County. He will be at the Belgreen High School Auditorium for two separate shows – one at 9:30 a.m. and one at 1 p.m.
Trash, the “Rockin’ Eco Hero,” is a comedian and environmental educator who uses his platform to teach children about the importance of taking care of the environment.
He performs shows for schools and at fairs and other venues. He has also created STEM-focused and STEAM-focused focused videos for teachers to use in their classrooms, and he has a music album of environmental songs.
Katernia Cole-Coffey and Dr. Susan Hargett have organized the event through the Franklin County Extension Office and Franklin County Community Education, and they said children can learn “why trash is a valuable natural resource; what things are recyclable; the magic of reduce, reuse and recycle; how to ‘close the loop;’ and that everything in nature is connected.”
