Jury indicts theft suspects
Two suspects who were arrested and charged with theft of property first degree in January have been indicted by a grand jury in Franklin County.
Randy Hill, 50, and Virginia Wilson, 35, were both indicted for theft of property first degree during the June grand jury trial.
Hill and Wilson were allegedly involved in the theft of equipment from The Bricks Inn and Restaurant in downtown Russellville. They were taken into custody Jan. 2 by the Russellville Police Department, which was able to identify and locate the suspects after interviewing witnesses and other community members.
The theft was reported by Russellville Mayor David Grissom, who was doing work at his apartment building downtown and said he heard a noise outside. When he looked outside, he said he saw two suspects loading items into an older model red Dodge pickup truck, and he called the police.
The stolen property was not recovered because it had already been disposed of at Tennessee Valley Recycling, according to Sgt. Jake Tompkins.
Hill and Wilson’s arraignment is set for Aug. 23.
