RCS board approves personnel changes
The June 26 Russellville City Schools Board of Education meeting saw several personnel changes.
There were three resignations. Jennifer Warhurst, who was the assistant principal at Russellville Middle School, resigned to accept the position as Phil Campbell Elementary School principal. Derek Gober, an RMS teacher, and Megan Swaim, a WES teacher, also resigned from their positions.
Kendra Howard, an RMS teacher, will be taking a leave of absence Aug. 16 through Sept. 9. Brittany Sykes, a WES teacher, will be taking a leave of absence Aug. 20-31.
Nicole Clingan was approved as a temporary employee to be a 21st CCLC teacher part time and as needed.
Tony Bonds was transferred from his position as Russellville Elementary School assistant principal to RMS assistant principal. Chris Balentine was transferred from At-Risk/ISS at RES to be driver and traffic safety education teacher at Russellville High School.
Three people were hired as new employees. Nathan Sawyer was hired on as a social science teacher at RMS. Whitney Allen was hired as a bookkeeper/secretary at RES. Jake Ward was hired as the At-Risk/ISS teacher at RES.
There were two resignations in supplement. The first was Gayla Mills, assistant varsity volleyball coach and assistant varsity softball coach. The second was Tori Lee, middle school softball coach.
Other actions taken at the meeting included:
- Approving the contract with Brock Malone for contract labor to clean the Russellville High School campus.
- Approving the CNP application and meal prices. Prices are as follows: employee breakfast at RHS is $1.25; employee lunch is $3.75; visitor breakfast is $1.50; and visitor lunch is $4.00. Breakfast and lunch is free of charge for students.
- Approving CNP agreements to provide after-school snacks and supper for the Chucky Mullins Center and Ralph Bishop Center after-school care programs; providing breakfast and lunch for S.P.A.N. Department of Youth Services at the First United Methodist Church in Russellville; and providing breakfast, lunch and a snack at Head Start child care center.
- Approving the salary schedules for 2018-19.
