Listerhill receives business award

Listerhill Credit Union has received the Shoals Chamber Business Excellence Award for Large Business of the Year, which recognizes local organizations that exhibit community and professional excellence, according to officials with the credit union.
Winners were announced at the inaugural Shoals Chamber Business Excellence Awards Ceremony June 13 at the Listerhill Credit Union auditorium in Muscle Shoals.
“We congratulate Listerhill on this award and appreciate the support of not only the Chamber but of every community they serve,” said Caitlin Holland, president of the Shoals Chamber.
Holland said Listerhill was one of 11 local businesses nominated for Large Business of the Year and one of 70 overall nominees in all categories.
“We are very honored and humbled to be recognized by our peers,” said Brad Green, president and CEO of Listerhill. “This award is a reflection of the trust our members and local communities have put in Listerhill to deliver excellence through our mission and values.
“Improving lives in our community is at the center of everything we strive for at Listerhill,” added Green. “It’s been our mission since 1952.”
Kristen Mashburn, chief of staff-retail with Listerhill, said these awards are a great way to recognize local businesses that are making a difference in northwest Alabama. “We are so pleased to receive the Large Business of the Year award from the Shoals Chamber and look forward to continuing our support of the Chamber as well as this community,” Mashburn said.
Mashburn said over the past year, Listerhill has donated more than $200,000 to local schools and nonprofits while sponsoring and supporting dozens of community events, providing 260 hours of free financial literacy training to more than 2,000 local students, donating 230 volunteer hours to local organizations through Listerhill Cares, raising more than $20,000 to fight cancer and offering $10,000 toward scholarships for local high school students.
“We are so thankful,” Mashburn added, “to be able to serve our local communities through the credit union movement.”
In Franklin County, Listerhill has a location in Russellville at 13400 Highway 43.
