RPD arrests one for possession
The Russellville Police Department has been putting more effort into keeping Russellville’s streets safe lately, and their hard work is resulting in arrests.
March 5 officers took Taylor Thompson into custody after a traffic violation stop resulted in the officers discovering more alleged criminal activity related to the suspect.
“It was a routine patrol when they stopped her for a traffic infraction,” Sgt. Jake Tompkins said.
After making contact with the suspect, Tompkins said RPD officers discovered she had active warrants from Franklin County for drug possession and distribution.
Tompkins said officers also discovered methamphetamine-loaded drug paraphernalia in the suspect’s car.
Thompson was charged with possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine – and is currently being held in the Russellville jail awaiting bond to be set, according to Tompkins.
