Library seeks volunteers
Students in need of volunteer hours or anyone who would like to lend a hand and become more involved in the community are invited to apply as volunteers for the Russellville Public Library.
“We usually have a good volunteer base, but a lot of students have graduated or are about to, and some of our elderly volunteers just aren’t able to anymore,” library director Ashley Cummins explained.
Volunteers are especially needed because of RPL’s recent catalogue system change-over. This new system has a snapshot feature that tells the name, author, summary and other recommended titles for each book. Volunteers are needed to add each ISBN number into the system.
Volunteers can also add with setup, cleanup and hosting the library’s myriad community programs.
A link to the volunteer application is on the library’s Facebook page. Interested parties can also apply in person at the library.
