Market to host cooking demo Friday morning

Although the Franklin County Farmer’s Market has been open for a few weeks, the market will host a special event to serve as a grand opening Friday.

From 9-11 a.m., community members are invited to come out to the market to sample grilled fresh vegetables and fruit. Other treats on hand will be vegetable infused water and free cutting boards and reusable totes, provided by nutrition education program agent assistant Annette Casteel.

Gary Stanford, Franklin County Farmer’s Market manager, said he hopes everyone will come out to enjoy the special event and support the market and local growers.
