Hazel Marie McAlister

Hazel Marie McAlister, 93, passed away Feb. 18 at the Tishomingo Living Center in Iuka, Miss. She was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi, to George Washington and Maudie Mae Johnson Gattis. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, with Bro. Scott Webster and Bro. Roger Wood officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Tishomingo, Miss. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, will be in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include two children, Allen Dunkin and wife Diane of Radcliff, Ky., and Judy Malone of Florence; five grandchildren, Timothy Malone and wife Donna, Anthony Malone and wife Vicki, Stephanie DiTommaso and husband Nicholas, Cody Dunkin and Kelsey Dunkin; seven great-grandhchildren, T.J. Malone and wife Lanae, Erika Beth Malone, Austin Blake Malone, Kayla Harris, Taylor DiTommaso, Christian DiTommaso and Brooke DiTommaso; one brother, Raymond Gattis of Tishomingo; and two sisters, Edna Ruth Hamby of Iuka and Mildred Gasaway of Golden.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Wayne Dunkin, and two husbands, James William Dunkin and Andrew McAlister.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Malone, Anthony Malone, Larry Durham, Cody Dunkin, Gary Bostick and Kenny Ray Gattis. Honorary pallbearer will be Jimmy Poole.

Visitation will be February 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay.
