RHS plans annual blood drive Feb. 15
The National Honor Society at Russellville High School will host its annual American Red Cross blood drive Feb. 15, and donors are needed to help save lives.
The RHS drive, which was first held in 2003, has been touted as one of the largest single-day high school blood drives in the state. Last year’s drive collected 330 pints of blood, according to figures provided by the American Red Cross.
NHS sponsor Heather Boyd said 53 senior members and 100 candidate members have all been working to schedule at least four individuals apiece to donate. “To encourage participation, all presenting/participating donors will receive a $5 Amazon gift card,” she said.
The drive will continue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
