Curtis Hershell Henry
Curtis Hershell Henry, 91, of Russellville, passed away at home Jan. 3.
Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Jan. 5 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 6 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Bro. Donnie Amos and Bro. Guy McDaniel will be officiating. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia.
Hershell lived most all of his life in the Rock Creek Community, and he was a very faithful member of the Posey Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was retired from Ford Motor Company, where he was a quality inspector for 26 years. He was very loyal to Ford Motor Company and wanted everyone to drive a Ford. He was known as the “Peanut Brittle Man,” that his bride made for all of his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Imogene King Henry; sons, Roger Henry and wife Melanie of Russellville and Ronald Henry and wife Tammy of Tuscumbia; and daughter, Linda Stone of Tuscumbia. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Rodney Stone (Blake), Jason and wife Tara, Jeremy Stone, Britney Henry and husband Bobby, Adam Henry and Luke Henry; six great-grandchildren, Landon, Brodie, Briley, Annleigh, Bryson and Brooklyn Stone; his brother, Charles Henry and wife Margie; sister, Christine Bolton and husband Clovis; and host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Lillie Henry, sister Katie Hester and brothers Marshall and Jimmy Henry.
Pallbearers will be Randall Hester, Jeff Henry, Don Myers, Donald King, Skyler King and Phillip Humphries. Honorary pallbearers are Rodney, Jason and Jeremy Stone and Britney, Adam and Luke Henry.
Granddaddy will be truly missed by everyone. Our family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Vacik and Dr. Daughtery for their care during our Daddy’s sickness. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Rock Creek Cemetery Fund.
