Johnny Ray Thornton

Johnny Ray Thornton, age 63, of Russellville, passed away Dec. 6 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
Service will be Dec. 9 from noon until 2 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Mr. Thornton will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Nauvoo, prior to the funeral service Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of New Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Black officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Grove Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Addie Lou Thornton, four sisters and three brothers.
Johnny is survived by his wife Kelly Thornton, sister Brenda Gail Thornton, father and mother-in-law Dennis and Debbie Smith and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Marco Tony Velez, Irvin Velez, Jorge Flores, Neal King and Colby Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers the family request monetary donations for the funeral expenses.
